Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Friday praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a leader with foresight and a clear vision for Nigeria.
Speaking at the 2026 National Convention of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at Eagle Square in Abuja, Akpabio said the Tinubu administration’s record in governance was drawing more support to the ruling party.
He said key policy decisions by the President, including the removal of fuel subsidy, the harmonisation of exchange rates, and reforms in the education sector, had helped expand opportunities for Nigerians, especially those from low-income backgrounds seeking access to tertiary education loans.
Akpabio also credited the administration with advancing agricultural development and infrastructure, pointing to rail expansion and ongoing road projects, including the coastal road.
He said Tinubu had shown over the years that he possessed both foresight and the ability to translate ideas into action, adding that Nigerians had yet to see the full impact of his leadership.
According to him, the President inherited a difficult economy but has begun to reverse the trend through economic and tax reforms, while also improving Nigeria’s standing on the international stage.
Akpabio said the APC had continued to grow in strength across the country, noting that the party now controls 32 states and could expand further before the next election cycle.
The Senate President, who also chairs the National Assembly, assured Tinubu of the legislature’s continued support, saying cooperation between the executive and legislature remained vital to the success of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also expressed confidence that the security challenges facing the country would eventually be overcome with sustained leadership, national support, and prayers.
