The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Education has announced that the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session will end on Friday, March 27, 2026.
In a press release dated March 26, 2026, the ministry said the Easter holiday will begin on Monday, March 30, and end on Friday, April 17, 2026.
It added that academic activities for the third term will resume on Monday, April 20, 2026.
The directive applies to all public and private primary, secondary, and technical schools across the state. The ministry asked all schools to comply strictly with the schedule.
The statement also conveyed the goodwill message of the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ubong Essien Umoh, who wished students, teachers, and other education stakeholders a joyful Easter celebration and a restful holiday.
The statement was signed by Mr Abasiama O. Inyang, Director of Project, who is covering duties for the Permanent Secretary, for the Honourable Commissioner.
