Governor says TSA reform lifted revenue from N2bn to N7bn monthly and strengthened accountability across government agencies.
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, says the state’s internally generated revenue has increased from N2 billion to N7 billion monthly, three months after the introduction of the Treasury Single Account policy.
The governor said the TSA, which took effect on January 1, 2026, was introduced to ensure that all Ministries, Departments and Agencies pay government revenues into a single central account to improve transparency and accountability.
Eno spoke during the Government House Monthly Prayer Service at the Latter House Chapel in Uyo. He said the rise in revenue had strengthened the administration’s push to make the state more financially sustainable, with a long-term target of raising internally generated revenue to a level that can cover workers’ salaries.
He urged Ministries, Departments and Agencies, as well as other financial stakeholders, to comply fully with the TSA framework. He warned that any attempt to undermine the process would be taken seriously by the government.
The governor also said his administration’s projects and programmes are being driven by the ARISE Agenda and by development needs identified across communities in the state. According to him, the government is implementing its plans in phases to support sustainable development.
On the political climate in the state, Eno called on residents to avoid actions that could heighten tension. He said his administration remained committed to peace, security and the welfare of the people.
