A senior official of the Federal Housing Authority, Arc Nya Etok Ezekiel, has outlined the reasons behind his recent political choices and announced plans to endorse key candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying his actions are guided by public trust, evidence and governance outcomes.

Ezekiel, who was appointed Executive Director in charge of Estate Services at the Federal Housing Authority in February 2024 by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said he viewed the appointment as a call to national service rather than a political reward. He said the role carried obligations of integrity, competence and accountability to the public.
At the time of his appointment, Ezekiel said he was a member of the African Democratic Congress. He remained in the party for several months before resigning in July 2024 to adopt a non partisan stance, arguing that neutrality was necessary to maintain focus and avoid partisan pressure while serving at a senior federal level. In December 2025, he formally joined the All Progressives Congress after what he described as careful reflection on the direction of governance and the leadership philosophy of the President.
He said his decision to join the ruling party was driven by conviction rather than convenience, adding that he prioritised leadership vision and reform capacity over party labels. According to him, every political position he takes must be one he can explain clearly and respectfully to the people he serves.
Ezekiel also disclosed plans to convene a special political consultation meeting on February 21, 2026, in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. At the meeting, he intends to formally endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who represents Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.
He stressed that the endorsements would be based on reasoned assessment rather than ceremony. He said the engagement would take the form of a structured town hall meeting, strictly by invitation, with delegates drawn from all forty eight villages in Ikot Ekpene. Between five and ten representatives from each village are expected to attend, alongside other invited stakeholders from across the state.
During the session, Ezekiel said he would present performance based and data driven arguments for each endorsement. Participants would be free to ask questions and would return to their communities with detailed information rather than campaign slogans. He described the approach as a deliberate attempt to promote explanation over spectacle in political engagement.
Outlining his wider campaign philosophy, Ezekiel said his political activities would focus on issues, evidence, transparency and respect for differing views, with an emphasis on measurable outcomes. He said leadership should be assessed by results and long term stability rather than applause or theatrics.
Ezekiel reaffirmed his commitment to public service, saying his endorsements and political actions would continue to reflect governance performance, development impact and national interest. He said his goal remained to serve Nigeria and his community with clarity, conviction and humility.
