Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has said his administration remains committed to delivering on the ARISE Agenda and the development priorities earlier presented to the people of the state.

Eno spoke during the monthly prayer service held at the Government House Chapel in Uyo, where he said the government’s projects and programmes were being driven by a defined development blueprint and the needs identified across Akwa Ibom.
He said the blueprint was carefully prepared to address the state’s development demands and remains central to his administration’s direction.
The governor said his government was working steadily to fulfil the mandate given by the people and to ensure that development projects were implemented in an orderly and sustainable manner.
He also restated his administration’s intention to strengthen the state’s internally generated revenue so Akwa Ibom can become more financially stable.
Eno said the government aims to build a self-sustaining economy and expressed the hope that, in the coming years, the state would generate enough internal revenue to at least meet salary obligations.
According to him, the introduction of the Treasury Single Account has already produced an early rise in revenue collections. He said internally generated revenue increased from N2 billion to N7 billion within a month of the policy’s commencement. That claim was made by the governor and was not independently verified in the statement.
He urged ministries, departments, agencies and other financial stakeholders in the state to comply fully with the Treasury Single Account framework. He warned that any attempt to undermine or compromise the process would be dealt with.
On politics, the governor called for restraint as political activities gather pace in the state. He advised political actors and residents against actions that could heighten tension, and said there would be no tolerance for avoidable political disruption.
He added that his administration would continue to place priority on the security and welfare of the people, while calling for continued support for peace, unity and development in Akwa Ibom.
The guest preacher, Rev. Simeon Afolabi, founder and serving overseer of Firstlove Assembly, Port Harcourt, preached on the theme, El-Shaddai, the God Almighty, drawing from 2 Corinthians 9:8 and Exodus 6:2-3.
Afolabi said the knowledge of God comes through revelation rather than formal education, and added that such revelation gives courage and removes fear. He described El-Shaddai as the Almighty God, mighty in wisdom, power and excellence, and urged Christians to continue trusting in God.
Those present at the service included the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Obareki, Deputy Governor Akon Eyakenyi, Secretary to the State Government Enobong Uwah, Head of Civil Service Elsie Peters, members of the clergy, government officials and other worshippers from across the state.
