A female suspect arrested on Friday 13 February 2026 will appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Monday 16 February 2026. She faces charges that include car hijacking and murder.
Police linked the arrest to the killing of an ehailing driver in Pretoria West on Wednesday 11 February 2026. Early findings indicate that a man and a woman requested a ride through an ehailing app and later murdered the driver inside his vehicle.
Dashcam footage from the car captured the incident and has circulated widely on social media. Police urged the public to stop sharing the video due to its disturbing content. Officers later recovered the hijacked vehicle and the driver’s body in Atteridgeville on the same day.
Police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed the arrest and said investigators expect further arrests as the case develops.
Reports identified the victim as 22 year old Isaac Satlat, a Nigerian national from Nigeria, who worked as a driver on Bolt while studying automotive engineering.
The Tshwane Ehailing Council called on drivers to attend the court session to show solidarity. The case has renewed concern about the safety of ehailing operators in the area.
