Hon. Ubong Willie, Supervisor for Youth and Transport in Uyo Local Government Council, has used a stakeholders’ briefing in Ikono II Ward 9 to reinforce support for the administration of the council chairman, Dr Uwemedimo Udo, while stressing the need for unity and closer engagement at the grassroots.

The meeting took place on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Uyo residence of the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Anieti Udofia, and brought together political leaders and other stakeholders from the ward.
Addressing the gathering, Willie said the Uyo council chairman had sustained peace, unity and development across the local government area. He said the decision to allow supervisors to organise ward-level briefings reflected an effort to deepen openness in governance, strengthen communication and give stakeholders a stronger sense of inclusion.

He thanked leaders in the ward for their support and also appreciated Udofia for providing the venue for the engagement.
In his remarks, Udofia praised Willie for convening the meeting and urged stakeholders to remain united and continue to support the administration of Governor Umo Eno as well as other leaders in government.
The Council Secretary, Mr Obioabasi Ubongabasi, also commended Willie for what he described as a diligent and loyal representation of Ikono II Ward 9. He said Dr Uwemedimo Udo had shown uncommon resolve in office, adding that empowering supervisors to return to their wards for direct engagement with stakeholders marked a new approach in Uyo local government politics.
