The National Identity Management Commission has announced plans to begin ward level enrolment for the National Identification Number across the country.
The exercise will commence on February 16, 2026. The Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, said the move follows a presidential directive to expand NIN registration to communities at the grassroots.
The commission stated that the enrolment will be free. It targets all Nigerians and legal residents, including children, for inclusion in the National Identity Database.
According to NIMC, the initiative will bring registration services closer to people, ease access, and reduce the need for long distance travel to enrolment centres.
The commission advised members of the public to check its website for ward enrolment schedules. It also encouraged citizens to use its toll free line for further enquiries.

Mr President should do something about the public not only senate and house of representatives members only,we are also Nigerians, some people are here without anything to eat but mr President forgot that we won’t stay hungry n vote for them to continue eating while we stay without nothing.
