Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria, RTIFN, Chief Kingsley Oyong, has declared that the group carries what he describes as a “triple mandate” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the weekend in Uyo during an exclusive chat with Akwa Ibom Times, Chief Oyong explained that RTIFN in the state is committed to mobilising support for the re election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, consolidating the mandate of APC Governor Umo Eno and strengthening the political leverage of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
According to him, RTIFN is a youth driven advocacy and mobilisation platform created to explain the reform policies of President Tinubu’s administration, counter misinformation and turn citizen engagement into concrete electoral support in 2027. He noted that he was recently inaugurated as Akwa Ibom State Coordinator by the National Leadership of the group at a ceremony in Abuja that unveiled RTIFN state structures across the country.
Chief Oyong stressed that the name “Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria” is a deliberate message to citizens to remain calm and patient while the administration undertakes difficult but necessary economic reforms. He argued that many of the decisions that appear painful today are aimed at fixing deep seated structural problems and laying a sustainable foundation for future growth.
On the core mandate of RTIFN in Akwa Ibom, he described the State Executive as the “operational nerve centre” of the movement. The team, he said, is responsible for localising the Renewed Hope message, coordinating public enlightenment on federal programmes, training volunteers and sustaining engagement with traditional rulers, youths, women and professional bodies across the state.
He disclosed that RTIFN is currently in an intensive consultation phase, with the State Leadership meeting key stakeholders across the three senatorial districts to agree on credible Local Government and Ward Coordinators. The goal, he added, is to have functional coordinators in all 31 local government areas and at every ward, ensuring door to door mobilisation and data driven voter outreach ahead of 2027.
Chief Oyong emphasised that RTIFN’s work in Akwa Ibom is firmly aligned with the governing APC structure in the state. He maintained that President Tinubu’s federal reforms, APC Governor Umo Eno’s development agenda and Senator Akpabio’s national influence are “intertwined interests” that ultimately benefit the same Akwa Ibom communities.
“Politics is local and development driven,” he said, insisting that aligning these three centres of power around stability, infrastructure, jobs and social cohesion would serve ordinary citizens far better than divisive partisan battles.
On youth engagement, the RTIFN State Coordinator revealed that the group will prioritise digital communication, campus outreach, town hall meetings and targeted social media campaigns to win the confidence of young people who consume most of their information online.
Chief Oyong concluded with a call on Akwa Ibom people not to allow temporary hardship to overshadow what he described as “permanent possibilities” under the Renewed Hope agenda. He expressed confidence that with unity, patience and effective organisation at state, local government and ward levels, Akwa Ibom would stand out in 2027 as a model of how Renewed Hope can translate into renewed opportunities for families across the state.
