The Federal Government has directed civil servants working within the Federal Secretariat complex in Abuja to work from home on Friday, March 27, 2026, ahead of the All Progressives Congress national convention in the capital.
The directive was conveyed in a circular signed by Abdul Garba, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, for the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
According to the circular, access roads leading to and around Federal Secretariat Phases I, II and III will be closed from Friday, March 27, to Saturday, March 28.

The government said the road closure was necessary because Eagle Square will be used for the APC national convention. It said personnel whose offices are located within the affected secretariat phases, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, should stay off-site and work remotely on Friday.
The circular also directed permanent secretaries and heads of agencies to bring the notice to the attention of their staff and ensure compliance.
The convention is expected to bring together party leaders, delegates and supporters in Abuja. The meeting is expected to address internal party matters as the APC continues preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
