The Akwa Ibom State Government has received the first batch of Compressed Natural Gas buses procured to improve public transportation across the state.

The initial delivery comprises 20 buses out of the 50 ordered by the administration to provide safer, more efficient and affordable transport services for residents.
The buses are expected to serve communities across the 31 Local Government Areas and support the government’s broader plan to modernise the state’s transportation system.
The government disclosed that work is progressing on the central bus terminal, designated bus stations, an automated ticketing system and other supporting infrastructure required for the smooth operation of the service.
According to the administration, the arrival of the buses represents another fulfilment of its commitment to delivering projects that directly improve the welfare of the people.
The government reaffirmed its determination to continue implementing people centred projects that promote mobility, reduce transportation costs and strengthen economic activities across Akwa Ibom State.
