President Bola Tinubu congratulated the winners of Saturday’s elections in the Federal Capital Territory, Kano State, and Rivers State. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted polls across six FCT area councils. Voters also participated in by-elections for state constituencies in Ahoada East II and Khana II in Rivers, and Kano Municipal and Ungogo in Kano.
The President described the electoral mandates as a sacred trust. He instructed the newly elected officials to serve with humility and patriotism.

President Tinubu specifically praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. He attributed the All Progressives Congress (APC) victories in the territory to the achievements of the Minister. The President also extended congratulations to the national, Kano, and Rivers leadership of the APC for their success at the polls.
The administration commended several groups for the peaceful conduct of the elections:
- INEC officials for managing the process.
- Security agencies for maintaining order.
- Voters for their participation.
- Contestants for their discipline and courage.
President Tinubu stated that these elections strengthen the democratic culture of Nigeria. He urged INEC to continue refining its processes to ensure future elections remain exemplary.
