Governor Umo Eno on Monday visited the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, in Abuja to strengthen security collaboration between Akwa Ibom State and the Nigeria Police Force.

The meeting took place at the Louis Edet House, the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force. Governor Eno congratulated the police chief on his appointment and commended the force for its role in maintaining law and order across the country.
He said the visit was aimed at deepening cooperation between Akwa Ibom State and the police in the area of security management. He also reaffirmed his administration’s support for security agencies in efforts to sustain peace and stability in the state.


Governor Eno said stronger collaboration with the police would help advance safety and support development in Akwa Ibom.
In his response, the Inspector-General thanked the governor for the visit and said it would further strengthen the relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and Akwa Ibom State. He also commended the governor for what he described as developmental strides and continued support for the police.
Members of the governor’s delegation included the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, Commissioner for Internal Security, Brigadier General Koko Essien, retired, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Frank Archibong, Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanah, Commissioner for Works, Prof. Eno Ibanga, Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Dr Frank Ekpenyong, President-General of the Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative, Engr Uwem Okoko, and Permanent Secretary, Abuja Liaison Office, Aniekan Akpan.
Also present at the meeting were senior police officers, including DIG Isayaku, DIG Margarete Ochalla of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, DIG Kene Onwumelie, DIG Fayode Adegoke, DIG A.M. Sulaiman, and DIG B. Zango.
