NASA is planning another mission into space in 2028 after selecting Voyager Technologies for its seventh private astronaut mission to the International Space Station, or ISS.

The mission, named VOYG-1, is expected to launch no earlier than 2028 from Florida and spend up to 14 days aboard the orbiting laboratory. It will mark Voyager’s first private astronaut mission to the station.

NASA said Voyager will propose four crew members for review by the agency and its international partners. Once approved, the crew will begin training with NASA, partner agencies and the launch provider ahead of the mission.
Under the arrangement, Voyager will purchase mission services from NASA, including cargo delivery, storage and consumables for the crew. In return, NASA will secure the ability to return scientific samples to Earth under cold-storage conditions.
The agency said the mission forms part of its wider plan to expand commercial activity in low Earth orbit and support the future transition to commercially operated space stations.
