Governor Umo Eno has received a strong vote of confidence from political leaders and stakeholders in Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, with the bloc formally endorsing him for a second term in office.
The endorsement was conveyed through a communique presented to the Governor by the leader of the district, Senator Effiong Bob, who said the decision followed a broad consultation among leaders and critical stakeholders across the area.
Senator Bob said the endorsement was driven by Governor Eno’s performance since assuming office, particularly in the implementation of the ARISE Agenda, which he said has continued to deliver visible development across the state.
He noted that the decision was unanimous and reflected the confidence of the people of Uyo Senatorial District in the Governor’s leadership, competence, and vision for Akwa Ibom State.
According to him, the district’s stakeholders were convinced that continuity in leadership would help consolidate the gains already recorded under the current administration and sustain the pace of development in key sectors.
The senator also disclosed that the district used the occasion to endorse President Bola Tinubu for a second term, while also reaffirming support for the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
He said the resolutions were reached after careful consideration of the performances of the leaders involved and the need to sustain progress at both the state and national levels.
In their separate goodwill messages, prominent leaders and stakeholders from within and outside the district praised Governor Eno’s inclusive leadership style and commitment to peace, development, and unity in the state.
Those who spoke included Ambassador Assam Assam, Ambassador Senator Ita Enang, Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Kufre Edidem, and the Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area, Dr Uwemedimo Udo, who also serves as the state ALGON Chairman.
They expressed confidence in the Governor’s administration and wished him greater success as he continues to lead the state.
In a major show of political support, local government chairmen from the senatorial district pledged to purchase Governor Eno’s nomination form, underscoring their commitment to his reelection bid.
Responding, Governor Eno thanked the leaders and stakeholders of the district for what he described as an overwhelming show of love, trust, and confidence in his administration.

He said he was deeply humbled by the endorsement and appreciated the growing support for the continuation of his government, noting that Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District had earlier taken a similar position.
The Governor maintained that his administration remains focused on the full implementation of the ARISE Agenda and insisted that government projects are spread across all local government areas of the state.

He assured the people of his commitment to inclusive and quality leadership, promising to continue pursuing policies and programmes that promote peace, development, and improved living standards for all Akwa Ibom people.
The event was attended by key government officials and political appointees, including the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno-Obareki, the Executive Assistant and Chief Delivery Advisor to the Governor, Mr Aniefiok Johnson, and members of the State Executive Council.
