The Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria, MOUN, Nsit Ibom chapter, has endorsed Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for a second term in office as the Executive Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, Hon. Otobong Aaron, marked the governor’s 62nd birthday with a community-focused intervention at Afaha Offiong.

The event, held on Friday at Deduco Oil, a filling station at Afaha Offiong, the headquarters of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, was organised in compliance with Governor Eno’s directive that birthday gifts meant for him should be converted into acts that touch lives and support communities.
In line with the directive, Hon. Aaron filled the fuel tanks of members of MOUN in Nsit Ibom, drawing commendation from the union and residents who described the gesture as practical, timely and people-centred.

The intervention also extended beyond commercial motorcyclists, as residents of Afaha Offiong trooped out with jerrycans to receive fuel for their generators.
Speaking during the event, members of MOUN said the gesture reflected the compassionate leadership style of Governor Eno and the local government chairman’s commitment to grassroots welfare.
They said Governor Eno’s emphasis on practical support for the poor, vulnerable and working-class citizens had deepened public confidence in his administration.
The union thereafter declared its support for the governor’s continuity in office, noting that his leadership had remained accessible, inclusive and focused on projects and interventions that directly affect the people.
According to them, commercial motorcyclists form an important part of the local economy, especially in rural communities where they provide daily transport support for traders, students, workers and residents.
They said the fuel support would ease the immediate pressure on their operations and help them serve the community better.
Hon. Aaron said the gesture was not a show of politics, but a direct response to Governor Eno’s birthday message, which encouraged well-wishers to avoid expensive gifts and instead channel such resources into improving lives.
He said the governor had shown that leadership should be measured by compassion, service and the ability to bring relief to ordinary people.
The chairman noted that Nsit Ibom would continue to align with the ARISE Agenda of the state government by supporting programmes and actions that promote inclusion, economic participation and grassroots development.
He commended Governor Eno for giving public service a human face and wished him more years of good health, wisdom and success in the service of Akwa Ibom State.
Residents who benefited from the fuel distribution also praised the initiative, saying it came at a time when many households needed support to power their homes and small businesses.
They thanked the council chairman for choosing a gesture that reached people directly and prayed for the continued success of the governor’s administration.
The event formed part of activities in Nsit Ibom to celebrate Governor Eno’s 62nd birthday and to honour his call for a birthday celebration anchored on compassion, service and impact.
