The Executive Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, Rt Hon. Otobong Aaron, joined other Local Government Chairmen and key security stakeholders at a Town Hall Meeting organised by the Nigeria Police Force, Akwa Ibom State Police Command.

The meeting, held on Thursday, April 24, 2026, at Ibom Hall, Uyo, brought together government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, and security agencies to strengthen coordination in tackling security concerns across the state.
The engagement focused on deepening community policing, improving intelligence sharing, and building trust between law enforcement agencies and residents. Participants examined emerging threats within local communities and discussed practical measures to enhance rapid response and crime prevention at the grassroots.


Rt Hon. Aaron, in his remarks, reaffirmed the commitment of the Nsit Ibom Local Government Council to sustained collaboration with the police and other security agencies. He stressed that effective security management requires collective responsibility and active participation from both authorities and citizens.
She assured that the council will continue to support initiatives that promote peace, stability, and safety across all communities in Nsit Ibom, noting that grassroots engagement remains critical to achieving lasting security outcomes.
Other attendees included the Chairmen of Uyo, Etinan, Nsit Ubium, and representatives from various security formations, all of whom reiterated the need for coordinated action and continuous dialogue to address evolving security challenges in Akwa Ibom State.
