The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, has praised Governor Umo Eno for what he described as steady progress in infrastructure and rural development across the state.

Ntukekpo spoke at the Victor Attah International Airport after the governor returned from an overseas trip. He said the administration’s policies and projects were helping to improve connectivity, open up more communities and place the state on a stronger path of inclusive growth.
Speaking to journalists, he said the government had shown commitment to development at the grassroots, adding that ongoing road construction and other public interventions were beginning to ease movement between communities.
He said the administration was making deliberate efforts to ensure that all parts of the state benefit from development, especially rural areas that have long faced access challenges.
Ntukekpo cited the road linking Efa in Etinan Local Government Area to Mkpat Enin as one example of the impact of the projects. According to him, the route has significantly reduced travel time for commuters and is already being used, even as work nears completion.
He said such projects would become more appreciated by residents once they are fully completed and commissioned.
The APC chairman also described Governor Eno’s leadership as practical and focused on the needs of the people. He said the governor’s policies were already producing visible results and improving confidence in governance.
Ntukekpo urged political actors across party lines to support policies and programmes that promote development and strengthen unity in the state.
He said development should not be treated as a partisan issue, especially when government actions are delivering direct benefits to the people.
He added that the progress recorded so far under the present administration suggests that Akwa Ibom is moving in a positive direction and could achieve more with sustained commitment and continuity.
