Senator Ita Enang, LLD, OFR, has arrived in Berlin, Germany, to assume duty as Ambassador Designate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Federal Republic of Germany.

Senator Enang arrived in Berlin in the company of his wife, Dr Mrs Rosemary Ita Enang. He was received at the airport by a delegation comprising officials of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to Germany, who represented the African Group of Ambassadors in Berlin, and senior officers of the Nigerian Embassy in Germany.
Following his arrival, staff of the Nigerian Embassy and members of the Nigerian community in Germany hosted a reception in his honour at the historic Hotel Bristol, Berlin.
In a statement, Senator Enang expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the confidence reposed in him through the appointment.
He also appreciated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the support and guidance provided in facilitating his posting. He acknowledged the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, directors, and staff of the ministry for their roles in the process.
“As I settle down to work, I pray grace upon grace for our colleagues still on the queue, that God will grant them divine speed,” he said.
Senator Enang pledged to work towards strengthening the existing relationship between Nigeria and Germany, with a focus on economic cooperation, trade, education, cultural exchange, investment, and people to people relations.
A former Senior Special Assistant to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and former Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East, Enang brings years of legislative, legal, policy, and public service experience to the diplomatic assignment.
His tour of duty is expected to further deepen bilateral engagement between both countries and open new areas of cooperation that will support Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives under the administration of President Tinubu.
Senator Enang is expected to present his Letters of Credence to the President of Germany before fully assuming official diplomatic functions as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany.
