Political leaders, elders, women, youths and other stakeholders from Nsit Clan have endorsed Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno for a second term in office.

The endorsement was made at a strategic meeting held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the country home of the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Capt. Iniobong Ekong, in Akwa Ibom State.
According to the communiqué issued after the meeting, participants said they met to review the political future of the state and take a common position on Governor Eno’s re-election bid. They said their decision was based on what they described as his strong performance in office and the impact of his ARISE Agenda across Akwa Ibom, including Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.
In his remarks, Ekong said the meeting had one purpose, to affirm the clan’s support for the governor’s re-election. He urged people of Nsit extraction to remain united and speak with one voice in support of the governor.
Representatives from the five wards of Nsit Clan also declared support for Eno’s second term. They pointed to what they described as visible development in their communities and expressed confidence that the governor would do more if re-elected.
The Vice Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local Government Council, Hon. Udeme Inwang, also backed the decision. She called on sons and daughters of Nsit Clan to rally behind the governor and work towards delivering strong support for him in the 2027 election.
Women leaders, youth groups and elders at the meeting also aligned with the endorsement.
At the end of the meeting, the stakeholders unanimously adopted Eno as the sole candidate of Nsit Clan for the 2027 governorship election in Akwa Ibom State. They said the decision was based on his performance, visible projects, inclusive leadership style and commitment to the welfare of Nsit people.
The meeting also resolved to mobilise political support across the clan to secure victory for the governor in 2027. Stakeholders called on all sons and daughters of Nsit extraction, regardless of political affiliation, to unite behind the decision and support the continuity of the ARISE Agenda.
The motion for the endorsement was moved by Hon. Aniekan Ekpo and seconded by Barr. Inyang Nkanga.
The communiqué further recommended immediate grassroots mobilisation across the wards to educate voters on the need to re-elect the governor. It also urged stakeholders to reconcile differences, strengthen unity within the clan, mobilise women and youths, and involve members of the diaspora in the re-election effort.
The meeting ended with appreciation to Capt. Ekong for hosting the gathering and with a renewed pledge by stakeholders to work together for Governor Eno’s victory in 2027.
