The Federal Housing Authority has commenced the development of 195 housing units at Ofada in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The project, known as FHA Gateway Estate, was inaugurated on Wednesday during a groundbreaking ceremony performed by the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Authority, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo.
The estate is being developed under a tripartite partnership involving the Federal Housing Authority, Greenpasture Homes Ltd and Akkenog International Company Ltd.
According to the Authority, the project will deliver 95 units of two-bedroom apartments and 100 units of three-bedroom terrace duplexes.
Speaking at the event, Ojo said the project marked another step in the Authority’s effort to expand Nigeria’s housing stock in line with the mandate given to his management by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said the FHA would bring its technical expertise, institutional capacity and experience in housing delivery to the partnership.
Ojo noted that public-private partnership remained one of the Authority’s major housing delivery models, adding that the scale of Nigeria’s housing challenge could not be addressed by government alone.
He called for more viable partnerships across the country, saying the FHA was ready to collaborate with credible investors and developers to expand access to housing.
The FHA chief also commended the Federal Government’s intervention on the Shagamu-Owode Road, which runs through the FHA Gateway Estate, saying the road project had added value to the estate.
He appealed to the host community to support the project and ensure its peaceful delivery for the benefit of residents and prospective homeowners.
Earlier, the Executive Director, Estate Services, and Chairman of the FHA Groundbreaking Committee, Arc. Ezekiel Nya Etok, commended the housing programmes of the Tinubu administration.
The General Manager, Partnership, FHA, Arc. Peter Okpanachi, said the estate was designed to provide serenity, safety and comfort for allottees and residents.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Akkenog International Company Ltd, Pastor Kehinde Akinwunmi Ogunusi, thanked the FHA for choosing the company as one of its partners, describing the partnership process as thorough.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of Greenpasture Homes Ltd, Engr. Oloyede Oluwale, said the project represented a strong public-private partnership in which FHA would provide technical oversight, regulatory guidance, branding and institutional support.
Oluwale said Greenpasture Homes was committed to delivering the estate in line with the approved designs, specifications, timelines and standards set by the FHA.
He assured prospective investors and subscribers that quality would be maintained throughout the construction phases, adding that the company was committed to the success of the project.
