Akwa Ibom State has allocated 25 newly built two-bedroom bungalows to public servants, extending its housing support programme for workers in the state.

The presentation of keys took place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, during a brief ceremony held at the Conference Room of the Head of Civil Service. The event was organised by the Head of Civil Service, Mrs Elsie Peters, who also serves as Chairman of the National Housing Fund in the state.
The new houses come in addition to the 150 free two-bedroom expandable flats earlier provided by the state government for junior public servants on Grade Levels 01 to 08.

Beneficiaries of the latest housing allocation expressed appreciation to the government. One of the allottees, Lionel Udoka, said receiving the keys was a moment of joy and pledged continued commitment to duty.
He thanked Governor Umo Eno for the gesture and also commended Mrs Peters for facilitating the handover of the houses to the beneficiaries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs Peters said the Public Servants’ Estate at Ikpedip in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area was part of the welfare measures introduced by the state government to ease the housing challenges faced by workers.
She said the initiative aligns with the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno and reflects the administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of civil servants.
Mrs Peters urged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the facilities and to show appreciation for the governor’s support through loyalty and dedication to their duties.
She also praised the governor for what she described as a clear demonstration of concern for the housing and accommodation needs of public servants in Akwa Ibom State.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Ms Doris Ikpuho, said the 25 two-bedroom bungalows are located within the Public Servants’ Estate in Ikpedip, with the Akwa Ibom Property and Investment Company serving as the developer.
She added that MacDudu Resources Limited handled the construction of the estate and credited the project to the housing drive of the Governor Umo Eno administration.
Ikpuho also thanked the Head of Civil Service for her role in ensuring the official presentation of the houses to the beneficiaries.
