A press statement dated April 6, 2026 has praised Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno for approving multiple road projects in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, including the Nung Udoe to Afaha Offiong dual carriageway.
The statement, issued on behalf of the people of Nsit Ibom State Constituency, described the approvals as a major milestone for the area and said the projects would improve road connectivity and traffic flow across the constituency.
It said the development marked the first time several major road projects were being executed at the same time across Nsit Ibom State Constituency.
According to the statement, the approved projects include the dualisation and construction of a six-lane Nung Udoe, Afaha Offiong, Ikot Imo and Itreto road, spanning about 36 kilometres, with bridges, outfall drains and solar-powered street lighting.
Also listed was the dualisation of the 8.130-kilometre Afaha Offiong to Afaha Nsit Road, which the statement said would enhance connectivity and ease traffic movement within Nsit Ibom Local Government Area.
Other projects named in the statement are the construction of the 10.6-kilometre Ekpene Ikpan, Ikot Offiok Nsit, Ukat Nsit and Mbiokporo Nsit road, including a spur to Oboyo Ikot Ita and a 30-metre span bridge, the construction of the 2-kilometre Inyang Isong Road linking Ikot Offiok Nsit to Oboyo Ikot Ita Primary Health Centre, and the construction of a 4-kilometre road from Ekom Iman Junction through Afia Nsit and Nduo Edu Hsit to Mbiokporo 1.
